The idea for restaurant FRÖJ has budded in our hearts over a longer period of time. When we finally found the perfect location we decided to go for it. Our greatest wish is to offer Ostrobothnians food of the highest quality. Taking the finest ingredients from our Ostrobothnian fields and refining them into unique taste experiences with influences from other cultures feels like a natural step for us.

At restaurant FRÖJ we aim to offer a holistic experience with food of the highest quality. Here, we work with the best raw ingredients from our region, mixed with ingredients from our Nordic neighbours. We call this style modern Nordic cooking, and it reflects the Nordic culture today – we use traditional techniques and are influenced by cultures around the world.
Behind restaurant FRÖJ is the same team as behind the successfull restaurant HEJM.
– I want the raw ingredients to play the lead on the plate and offer new and interesting taste combinations, says Mattias Åhman, restaurateur and Finnish Chef of the Year in 2017.
The restaurant is located in a distinguished building close to the market square and has 44 seats. Four and six course tasting menus are our specialty but at FRÖJ you can also have a drink at our kitchen counter or choose a dish from the à la carte menu. On the first floor you will find our wine room where you can book a dinner for groups up to 16 persons.
We are happy to recommend you a well-paired wine with your food, and on our wine list you can find both Old World and New World wines. Alcohol-free drinks are close to our heart and therefore you can always get an alcohol-free recommendation to your dish.
